Diabetes Patients Not Using Aspirin to Reduce Risk of Stroke & Heart Attack

The American College of Preventive Medicine reports that a survey found nearly 50% of Americans with diabetes are not using aspirin to reduce the risk of future heart attacks and strokes. The American Diabetes Association does recommend using aspirin therapy to prevent first and recurrent strokes and heart attacks. Even though aspirin does interact with some diabetes medications, diabetes patients can prolong their lives by taking aspirin as prescribed by their doctors.
