In the prostate cancer prevention trial that lasted 7 years, investigators concluded that finasteride clearly prevents or delays prostate cancer. Additionally, another trial, the SELECT trial, found that prostate cancer is significantly lower in men who take selenium and Vitamin E supplements. The breast cancer prevention trial of tamoxifen found that women who took the drug were diagnosed with breast cancer 49 percent less than women who took placebos. |
